New Media/Social Media Conference: Podcamp Boston 4 is this Weekend

Podcamp Boston 4 is this weekend. Podcamp is a great conference. It started in Boston and it's unlike those conferences where you sit for 4 hours and listen to people up on a stage present things. It's participatory where session moderators do an 18 minute or less introduction then open it up to the audience for discussion.

These discussions are not the standard questions from the audience disucssions, the attendees also become presenters. There are also rooms available for attendees to schedule their own sessions at the venue. It's an unconference.

I'll be helping to moderate two sessions on video:

SAT 4 PM - 4:45 PM Room 2-540
Where is video online going and where will it end?

Moderators: Skip Bensley, Robert Collins, Joselin Mane and Matthew Mamet

SUN 11:15 AM - 12 PM Room 3-540
What equipment is best for a video podcast?

Moderators: Mike Volpe and Karen Rubin

Pre-Register
If you are interested in going, you must pre register on the site as they will not be registering people at the door. It costs $50 to attend.

If you're wondering what's next in social media, there's no better place to find out than at PodCamp, regardless of whether you're just getting started or you're a veteran practitioner. Unlike other conferences which are just talking head affairs, PodCamp gives you the opportunity to learn, share, and grow your skills at any level, helping your community as it helps you.

This year, we're aiming to answer the question of what's next - what's next for podcasting, blogging, social media, and the crazy 2.0 world we live in. We're featuring sessions specifically focused on your questions and the answers to them - provided not just by "experts" but by your peers and colleagues as we all learn, share, and grow our social media skills.

Take a look at some of the discussion topics:

- Social media and charitable causes: are you a Gates or a Buffet?
- What can social media do for education?
- How does social media figure into the future of documentary film?
- How do you start this podcasting thing?
- How can we throw traditional media professionals a social media lifeline?
- How do you measure your social media efforts effectively?

Do you have these questions too? Do you have answers to these questions? Be at PodCamp Boston!
